Fashionable Ladies.

I love clothes. I love fashion. Above anything, I love shopping. With my recent blog obsession, these loves have become even more present in my life as everyday I ogle pretty girls with even prettier outfits. I think I have new icons, and they are not on tv, but they are now celebs to me. These fashion bloggers are what I aspire to look like every morning as I get dressed. It may seem silly, but check out my five favorite fashion bloggers of the moment, and you'll completely understand.

Kendi from Kendi Everyday is not only stylish and hilarious when she writes, but her style most closely matches my own.
Kim from eat.sleep.wear. makes her semi-daring outfits look effortless.

Jen from Jen Lovs Ken is a new mom who has the cutest dress and tight collections and combos.

Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere reminds me of the ultra-cool girl that I will always aspire to be. She's beautiful with the most envy-invoking LA wardrobe possible.
Beth from B. Jones Style has ridiculously crazy outfits, that I only wish I could pull off like she can. She puts fabrics, colors and styles together that I would have never dreamed of, and they work flawlessly.

There you have it, my top 5 fashion blog icons of the moment. Needless to say, these are the first blogs I read everyday, and I hope you check them out and see why!

Spinach Quiche

I am now a domestic goddess.

Well, maybe not quite yet....but believe me, I am well on my way. Between living alone, and not exactly having a *coughcough* huge social life down here yet, I have had ample time to work on my domestic skills. This includes making gloriously delicious meals, such as the one i'm about to share. Food makes me happy (if it doesn't make you happy, that could be a problem) so I'll be including it on this blog when I think my skills might impress.

And now for my Spinach Quiche:

This recipe ended up being absolutely delicious, and with a few tweaks and additions, I fully plan on making this again.

Here's the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed
  • 1 bunch green onions, finely chopped (white parts only)
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 (16 ounce) package cottage cheese
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup crushed croutons

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9 inch pie or quiche pan.
  2. Place spinach in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until soft. Drain off any remaining liquid. Stir in green onions, eggs, cottage cheese and Cheddar cheese. Pour mixture into prepared pan.
  3. Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with crushed croutons. Return to oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until eggs are set.

Enjoy!

Heaven?

Sleepy Monday.

Monday is here again! I hate Mondays, and find it usually takes me a while to get into the day. So, because my 2 cups of coffee weren't jump starting me as fast as usual, I've been listening to this song on repeat. I've been dancing around to it all weekend in my apartment and it does a good job of getting me out of my funky moods. Just try and not tap your foot and wiggle in your chair while listening to this. Seriously, it's impossible. I dare you.

Happy Friday!

It's Friday (sighs with pleasure).
I'm all about the inspirational quotes and photos if you haven't already noticed from my Tumblr (<---visit!).

I've been thinking a lot lately about how from the outside it appears I've completely started over in almost every aspect of my life, but on the inside I've been trying so hard to "start over" in my mind. That might not make sense to everyone, but it's pretty frustrating, not going to lie. The first picture kind of reminds me that it's all about me right now though. This is my time, and the "starting over" in my mind will happen in my own time, when I'm ready.

Here's to 2011 and letting the "starting over" happen when it's supposed to.

Pretty Things.

Things I've been loving this week:
Awesome storage bins with old library books as the front. Found via Jane Has A Job.
Adorable and creative wall decoration from Cupcakes and Cashmere. I think I might have to add it to my DIY list...
J.Crew's latest photo shoot has me wishing my bank account didn't look so dismal. I'd love her entire outfit...and well, the man standing next to her also. Please?
These homemade hardware necklaces. I'm not really feeling the bolt one, but the washer and ribbon one is adorable and again, will be added to my list to re-create.
Another adorable outfit that I would like to be zapped straight into my closet please. Especially the printed shirt and classic skirt. Love.

That's all I have for you on this ridiculously snowy Thursday. Did it take anyone else 45 mins of digging their car out of the snow before 3 men took pity on them and finally helped? No? Just me apparently. Hm. Lovely morning.

Pardon the Dust...

...but the blog is currently under construction. While at first I really liked the look of my blog, I've decided recently I HATE it. The only problem with that is now I have to figure out how to make it look like it does inside my funny little head. OY. Needless to say, you might see some considerable changes, happening often, until I get it to the look the way I want.

In the meanwhile, this is the song I currently have on repeat:

I just can't get enough of it. The voice, and lyrics are amazing.
Enjoy!
