Hi friends! Sorry for the prolonged absence once again, but I come to you with an outfit post!

I've been hesitant to do one of these because well, it's kinda weird thinking "hey, I like my outfit, I'm sure my 5 readers want to see it too!". But, I'm trying to follow the "why not?" mantra this year so here goes!

So yesterday was my 25th birthday. I had a fabulous weekend and couldn't be luckier to have such wonderful family and friends to make me feel so very special on a day when I really thought I'd have a crisis. I kinda did, but it wasn't as monumental as I would have thought (more about this in tomorrow's post).

Anyway, yesterday was pretty low-key after going out the night before (pardon the slight rough-looking Nicole in these photos. No sleep + day 2 of drybar blowout). Part of it was spent with my wonderful cousin Melissa who lives a few blocks from me and her amazing dog, Baxter. Our favorite pastime is taking Baxter on walks throughout the city so part of my birthday was doing just that. It was a beautiful day and on our way back from the river we stopped and did a little photoshoot. I have to say, my favorite part about these photos are my prop Baxter. He's a wonderful model.

Insta-Pretty Outfits

So...sometimes I take pictures of my outfits....and post them on Instagram. May be lame (oh well), but it's kinda fun.

Spring is FINALLY here in NYC this week, and with that comes my renewed shopping obsession. With a new season just comes this feeling that I need all new and pretty things! I will be trying not to indulge in these feelings so instead I do a lot of browsing. Lately, I've been obsessing over accessories... specifically shoes and sunglasses. 

I've never been a huge sunglasses fan but, alas things change. Above are the ones I have my eyes on lately. What do you think...any favorites? What are you loving this spring season?

Where Are You, Spring?

I keep buying pretty spring things, but alas, all I can do is stare at them. It's still super chilly down here in NYC, so new clothes will just have to wait. 

P.S. can you tell I'm having an identity crisis? I can't help but be attracted to super feminine  flowy pieces, and at the same time anything with studs. Either way. hurry up Mother Nature! I'm over my winter wardrobe, bring on the dress weather!

Struggle City.

Sorry for my silence everyone. I was on a blogging roll for a while, but this week has just been one of those weeks.

Struggle.City.

It was pretty much just a rough week and not my most productive. Fortunately, it's almost over. I'm headed home for the weekend tomorrow and can't freaking wait. 

Here's to home-cooked meals, comfy homes, the weekend, and a fresh start next week.

Happy Friday

Ah, Friday has arrived. Finally. 

Not much to say over here as it's been a pretty uneventful week (work, gym, dinner, shower, bed, repeat. I'm wild, I know). Only exciting this this week is the little blog-ish things I've been playing around with. (NEW HEADER!). I've been tweaking and playing a lot with the design and such so expect more and more changes over here! Also, yesterday I made my first collage...whatdya think? Seems like little things, but they seem big after reading so many blogs all these years!

Shiny Ponies

So, lets talk shoes. 

I've always liked shoes, but they're just never something I've invested in in the past. Lately though, something in me has changed. ALL I WANT ARE SHOES. For some reason everywhere I look I just find the most beautiful shoes. Flats, heels, wedges, boots...you name it, I want it. I have a running list.

Every season J.Crew undoubtedly produces some of the most beautiful ones. I'm constantly perusing their website and stores wishing I had enough pennies in the bank. Alas, I never do (one day?!). I also stumbled upon this video interview with Jenna Lyons (one of my number one girl crushes in life) where she talks about J.Crew shoes, and how when they turn out perfect, they call them "Shiny Ponies". Kind of perfect. 

Her shoe collection is where dreams are made of. Can someone please get me those floral/sparkle business-in-the-front-party-in-the-back heels? Woah.
